We seek to heal the healers through stress management education targeted to health care professionals.

We provide experienced coaches to help you with your journey to prevent and manage stress. We have two experienced nurses to lead our team of coaches. Jodi Waddoups and Liz Close have over seventy years of nursing experience. Our coaching team will provide you with support focused on your needs as a nurse. They will answer your questions through email and a chat feature in the Terra Firma application.  They will also provide monthly live webinars to provide engaging presentations and to answer your questions in real time.

Jodi Waddoups MSN-Ed, RN, NPD-BC, RN-BC, CPPS

Jodi Waddoups, MSN-Ed, RN has been a nurse for 27 years with experience in Intermediate Care, Trauma, Pediatrics, Ambulatory Surgical Care, Case Management, Patient Safety, Risk, Education and Nursing Leadership. She received her Associate Degree from Parkland College in Illinois and her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Western Governor’s University. She has a passion for supporting nurses to become empowered, develop a professional voice and acquire resiliency tools.  She also has a passion for Type-1 diabetes education and community support.  She holds memberships in the American Nurses Association, the Utah Nurses Association, the Association for Nursing Professional Development, and the American Medical Surgical Nursing Association.  She is a currently a Division Professional Development Specialist in the HCA Mountain Division and the president of the Utah Nurses Foundation.


Jodi’s loves are her husband of 33 years, her 6 children, 3 son-in-laws, and 3 grandchildren.  Her hobbies include designing t-shirts, listening to music and reading/listening to books and podcasts.  Her favorite quotes are from The Man in the Arena, Theodore Roosevelt and Our Deepest Fear, Marianne Williamson.

Liz Close PhD, RN

Liz Close, PhD, RN, is the Executive Director of the Utah Nurses Association and former Nursing Expert Consultant for the AARP/RWJF Center to Champion Nursing in America. In the latter role she worked with states across the country from 2011-2019 to implement recommendations of the 2011 IOM Report on the Future of Nursing and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Culture of Health model. She is Professor Emerita and retired Department of Nursing Chair at Sonoma State University and has dedicated over 40 years of her 46-year nursing career to undergraduate and graduate nursing education in major state university systems in Utah, Pennsylvania and California. Her internationally recognized area of expertise is the Shared Curriculum Model for ADN to BSN progression and she led statewide development and implementation of the seamless California Collaborative Model for Nursing Education.

Liz has extensive teaching and mentoring experience with nursing students in prelicensure, RN to BSN, and graduate nursing programs. Her MSN from UCSF is in child growth and development in the school setting and her PhD from UCSF was in sociology with specialties in health care policy and aging. She is excited to take on the Nurse Coach role with Terra Firma to help nurses successfully prevent and manage professional and personal stress to reach optimum levels of emotional and physical health.
